Senior Human Resources Business Partner

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Senior HR Business Partner / Talent Acquisition Lead to support the development of our European organisation.

Based in or around The Hague, you will play a key role in building our local team in the Netherlands and supporting future recruitment across Europe. The initial focus will be on identifying and hiring experienced commercial and operational professionals, including Sales Managers, Business Development Managers, Project Managers and other market-facing roles.

This position is suitable for a senior HR professional who understands the Dutch employment market, is familiar with local labour legislation and has an established network of candidates, recruiters or industry contacts.

Experience or connections within the EV charging, energy storage, renewable energy, electrical equipment or broader energy technology sectors would be highly advantageous, but are not essential.

What you will do

Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning

  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies aligned with the company’s European expansion plans.
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for local and regional positions, from workforce planning and job definition to candidate sourcing, interviewing, offer management and onboarding.
  • Proactively identify and approach experienced professionals, including passive candidates and senior-level talent.
  • Build talent pipelines for key commercial and operational roles, particularly in sales, business development, project management, technical services and local operations.
  • Support targeted executive search and direct sourcing initiatives for strategically important positions.
  • Advise management on local talent availability, salary benchmarks, candidate expectations and recruitment timelines.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with recruitment agencies, headhunters, universities, professional associations and relevant industry networks.

HR Business Partnering

  • Act as the primary local HR partner for the European management team.
  • Translate business objectives into practical workforce and HR plans.
  • Advise managers on organisational design, headcount planning, role structures and team development.
  • Support managers throughout the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, probation, performance management, employee development and offboarding.
  • Provide practical guidance on employee relations and workplace matters.
  • Help build a professional, compliant and performance-oriented organisational culture.

Dutch HR Operations and Compliance

  • Ensure that local HR practices comply with Dutch employment law and applicable regulations.
  • Support the preparation and review of employment contracts, HR policies, employee documentation and internal procedures.
  • Advise management on working conditions, probation periods, holidays, absence, performance management, termination procedures and other employment-related matters.
  • Coordinate with external legal advisers, payroll providers, recruitment agencies and other local HR service providers where required.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and recruitment documentation.
  • Support the development of scalable HR processes that can be applied as the European organisation grows.

Employer Branding and Local Market Development

  • Support the development of the company’s employer brand in the Netherlands and wider European market.
  • Improve the quality and consistency of job descriptions, candidate communication and recruitment materials.
  • Represent the company professionally to candidates, recruitment partners and industry contacts.
  • Provide insight into local employment trends, competitor hiring activity and talent-market developments.

What you will bring

  • Five to eight years or more of professional HR experience, with substantial experience in recruitment, talent acquisition or HR business partnering.
  • Proven HR experience within a company operating in the Netherlands.
  • Strong working knowledge of Dutch employment law, HR practices and local employment standards.
  • Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end recruitment processes.
  • Experience sourcing and engaging experienced or senior-level candidates, including passive talent.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into effective hiring and HR solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Able to work independently and establish HR processes in a growing organisation.
  • High level of discretion, professionalism and integrity when handling confidential information.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Employment Law or a related discipline.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
  • Based in, or able to commute regularly to, The Hague and surrounding areas.
